Welcome to the virtual home of the 56th Fighter Wing!
Our look has changed, but our mission has not. This Wing is dedicated primarily to bring people together who share the same
interest: playing a flight simulation that we all enjoy. Our goal here in
the 56th is geared toward having fun flying online. We are all here to help each other
learn this simulation, and to have fun doing so. All of our pilots each have their specialty so do not hesitate to ask questions when they arise.
The 56th VFW currently has 4 active squadrons:
The 63rd Panthers,
308th Emerald Knights, 309th Wild Ducks,
and the 310th Tophats.

02 February 2008- General is the 56th VFW's new Executive Officer!14 February 2007- Various 56th VFW SQ's are beginning to use Open Falcon 4.3 for official Flight Ops.31 December 2006- The 21st VFS is inactivated as an operational 56th VFW combat SQ. All active 21st pilots please apply for membership in any of our 4 other SQ's. As per Thumppers instructions any prior 21st pilot may stay in a "casual" status assigned to the Wing, while they fly with and decide on the SQ they would like to join.17 November 2006- 56th William Tell III kicks off 20 Jan! Salute, Blue Skies, Best Wishes & Happy Hunting to the both of you and the entire 21st VFS!25 Oct 04- Rick "DAWG" Horton Joins the 309th from California. He's been around the block a few times so he will definitely be a great addition to the 56th.24 Oct 04- Daryl "Wrecker" Russell joins the 63rd FS. Daryl hails from the United Kingdom and will be an excellent addition to the 56th VFW. 26 Sept 04- Tank rejoins the 56th as the Executive Officer and Jonathan "Barracuda" Lavender joins us from the real 56th FW29 May 04- The 56th main page has been updated with links to the 56th Flag Exercises and backup message board. 28 May 04- William Tell 04-02 is only 3 weeks away! Sign up your team and join in one of the most challenging and fun competitions the 56th has to offer. You can check out the William Tell website by clicking on the Flag exercises link on this page. 25 May 04- The first quadrennial 56th Gunsmoke was a fantastic success. Congratulations go out to Headhunter & Wrongway the overall competition team winners, and to Buff as the Gunsmoke Top Gun! Congratulations guys and see you in the air in August for next Gunsmoke. 16 March 04- I'd like to welcome our newest pilots, McNasty, Sinned and Xak to the 56th VFW! McNasty is the latest addition to the 309th Wild Ducks, and Sinned and Xak are the newest 63rd Panthers. 16 March 04- For now the 56th VFW is going to continue to use SP3 for our online flights due to it's excellent stability and flyability. SP4 and the other new patches that are works in progress, such as Free Falcon and BMS, are fantastic but currently lack the stability and consistancy we look for in regards to our online flying experience. We'll be keeping an eye on these fantastic updates and will continue testing and evaluating on the side. 08 March 04- Testing is ongoing for SP4. We're looking deeper into and exploring MP stability over the next few weeks. So far everything as far as stability is looking good. The 309th is our dedicated test SQ at the moment. If you plan to fly with them please ensure you have a "clean" install of Falcon + 1.08us+SP4+the 56th filter. absolutely no extra add ons ie. Free Falcon, BMS ,etc.
