56th VFW Recruitment Video
We welcome all new recruits to the 56th Fighter Wing. Pilot experience level does not matter. Responsibility, dedication to
the Wing, your squadron, and above all else, team work does. The most important thing is that you have fun.
The 56th is a great place for all experience ranges and game expectations. One of our SQ's is bound to fit most Virtual pilots.
We offer the option to fly multiple patch versions (versions dependent on current 56th SQ preferences), and are quite possibly the only multiple patch Wing in
existence.
The 56th will continue to explore new patches in the future as
they become more stable and new updates resolve in frequency. All new patches are tested exhaustively before adoption for online play.
Our main goal is to have stable flights. To this end it is imperative that new recruits both understand and comply with current 56th patch
policy. A detailed break down of this policy can be found in the New Recruits guide available on this sites Downloads page,
or from the CO/XO of the SQ you're interested in/a new member of.
Any questions at all that you have can be directed to SQ leadership. Currently we use Open Falcon 4.5 (56th customized version) to
conduct our flight ops. Each SQ has a patch of preference they fly with (and stick to long term) for our SQ flights.
Our only other requirements:
- Must own Microprose Falcon 4.0 and/or Falcon 4.0 Allied Force & plus have the latest patches used by the 56th. These
will depend on the SQ you apply for, and some patches will be available for download from the 56th server.
- Must have Roger Wilco and Team Speak (for radio communications)
- Must have ICQ
- Must be fluent in English
- Must not be a member of another wing while you are a member of the 56th, unless OK'd by your CO.
As a pilot in the 56th, your loyalty & dedication should be to the 56th. If another Squadron
interferes with your
participation in the 56th, you will be asked to make a choice between the two.
- Must be able to attend squadron meetings and flights on a regular basis (at least one flight every two weeks).
- Must be 18 years of age or older (depends mainly on maturity, SQ CO's amy elect to make exceptions on a case by case basis).
- Must be willing to abide by the 56th Code of Conduct.
